Threat suspects caught in Emmett School District

Jan. 9 Update

Emmett School District says law enforcement identified the individuals responsible for the threat, which was determined to pose no risk to safety and made with no motivation representing harm to others.

The district adds that typical protocols involve law enforcement forwarding such cases to the prosecutor's office, which will handle any resulting charges. Should such incidents involve students, consequences may include those dispensed by the district, which could involve expulsion.

The investigation associated with this particular crime is ongoing.

"We want to assure everyone that this particular incident has been resolved, the resulting consequences are being handled appropriately by all parties, and there is no risk to safety," The district says. "This incident was not connected in any way to the December threat that involved multiple school districts in Idaho and other states. We also want to communicate the seriousness of such crimes and the significant legal and school-related consequences they involve."
